[Imagination Club] Introductions

[Michelle James]

Hi.  I'm Michelle James and live in McLean, VA .  I've been working with
cultivating creativity and innovation in the workplace for many years and am
finding only in the last couple years it is starting to be taken seriously
and valued as part of the "business bottom line."  I used to weave it into
organizational development and strategic processes, but now I can just call
it what it is and people are open to it. I run a creativity consulting
company (http://www.creativeemergence.com), and founded the Capitol
Creativity Network in Washington, DC, a non-profit special interest group
dedicated to exploring creativity in business and life through a variety of

creativity and imagination into knowledge and information based systems to
transform the workplace - structures,  culture, climate, ways of being,
communicating and working, etc. and 2) helping people navigate the unknown -
so they experience it as a fertile creative resource instead of something to
be feared. I am a performer of full-length improvised plays with Precipice
Improvisation Theater Company (http://www.precipiceimprov.com) and have
started Quantum Leap Theater - which is basically about using the theater of
imagination and improvisation for innovation.
