[Imagination Club] Introductions

Hi.

My name is Fedde Schouten. I'm 42, married, three kids. Me and my two partners own a small (about 12 people) company in Amsterdam, called Yardmen. We help other companies speed up their change, by adding creativity to their changing processes. Our work is kind of a mixture between hard boiled business consultancy and creativity, advertising, journalism and television. For instance, a large company says it's employees need to become more client focussed. So they tell their poor hard working employees they have to change. They put up a schedule, change of culture should be finished in 6 or 7 months. Usually the CEO has read some books by Stephen R. Covey. He (seldom a she) earns about 400 times as much as the average employee.

A few months later the CEO tells the employees that "change isn't going fast enough, so they need to change harder". After a period of time that company comes to the conclusion that nothing has happened really. In some cases they come to us, asking for help. Then we come up with quite different approaches.

We're also often asked to help with things like new business opportunities, communication and a little bit of brand strategy. We work mainly for large corporations and public services.

Ciao. It's fun to be part of this initiative.

Thanks to Paul for the introduction (nice surname, Paul!).
Indeed, I think it would be useful for you all to introduce
yourselves. It would help us get to know members of the
Imagination Club community.

So, go ahead. Don't be shy. Introduce yourself to the
community!
