Hello Alka,
a lovely dream indeed, and I'm happy to say that it's
been developed here in Montreal, Canada. a
quasi-government agency that is responsible for
fostered children runs a program for mentoring, where
young people (1 to 18) seek a mentor and they are
matched with an adult for weekly quality time
together. they provide the space and even snacks and
let them interact. the kids come by themselves so they
are motivated to see those mentors, and the mentors
have a lot to share.
but you're right, if it's on a bigger scale it would
probably be more accessible.
cheers
Randah
