Hi Jeff,
its an interesting point , and one mirrored in our organisation in
Australia and New Zealand - where in January this year we instigated
" idea sessions "every week for a group of 24 or so sales, technical, and
marketing group, focussing on improvements, new products, applications
markets etc. for our water based polymers.

10 Months later we are scratching for significant ideas , and
participation has waned, and people not finding enough time to do thorough
research and true idea generation, and getting caught up in normal day to
day job function "stuff ".

My suggestion for my group is to move out timing - to enable all the above
and get better quality output- with small teams allocated to working on
realisation of the groups voted/selected ideas......will this work? don't
know yet .

So my offering is to have a monthly imagination club idea selected from a
list of submissions and voted for Imagination Club attention , with
responses on a monthly basis.

Often submitted ideas seed and promote 2nd and 3rd generation ideas which
can be extremely valuable- is there a way of facilitating and recording
this for the group- so you have a "tree" of ideas and progression history
that we can refer to at any time - this might assist getting our minds
into genuine "ideation mode" ?

regards , Guy

[Imagination Club] Challege: more participation

I have a problem! The level of participation in the
imagination club has fallen over the past few weeks, even
though membership has increased slowly.

A month ago, a challenge would have resulted in at least a
half dozen ideas from a half dozen people. Now, most
challenges get just one or two responses.

So, today's challenge is simple: how can I encourage you
and the other 100 or so members to participate more in the
imagination club?
