In my mind, I see this workshop a lot different from the usual things that
children do... eg writing, painting etc.
I would introduce them to mind-maps, which would help them look at ideation
as a more holistic and expanding concept, rather than a linear one. So I
would help them create mind-maps for fun things like 'ideas for a birthday
party', 'ideas for a school project' etc.
I would do a lot of exercises with them, which help them think differently.
Like asking them to complete proverbs with a different ending, letting them
generate analogies for a problem on hand, or using simple ideation
techniques like random word.
Children usually have a high degree of creativity; it gets reduced as they
grow up.One of the messages in my workshop would be to emphasize how
important it is to retain the capacity to think different.
